Giant Pretzel Jar - Ideas Wanted

Any Ideas?

Well, we just finished our gigantic jar of pretzels and now as I sit here staring at the empty container I can't bring myself to throw it out. I keep looking at it, thinking that there has to be something I can use it for...
Something crafty for this kids or myself, a toy for the dog, a giant "ocean in the bottle" or a giant "I Spy Bottle"??!?!?
Any ideas?

The first things that pop into my head are storage for craft supplies (buttons, pom poms, feathers, pipe cleaners, markers, crayons) or a child's bank or a huge container of sand art. Lame ideas I know.....=) I can't wait to check back and see what other people come up with!

First ours got used for fireflies. We then let them go and it got filled with grass and caterpillars. After the caterpillars the grass stayed and fake lizards were added. It got filled with sand, sand poured out, got filled with water, water poured out--etc. You get the picture. My little guy came up with LOTS of ideas.

We have several of these around. One is just various objects from games, or craft stuff, or manipulatives, that I didn't feel like putting away or didn't really have a home (like the game was thrown out because of too many missing pieces, but hey lets keep these because we can create our own game and use them for it). Another is currently holding those "grow in water" things. It was fun for the kids to be able to SEE them through the side of the container (vs. a bowl as we've used before). And since it isn't glass they could handle it on their own without me worrying about it getting broken ;)

I had one of these for years as my "Writing Utensils" bin, crayons, markers, pens, pencils. It worked great, but finally began to crack. We don't eat pretzels, so I don't see myself replacing it, but you have made me long for it again...

Mango, I had no way to e-mail you back directly so I figured I would just put it here. Thank you so much for the link to the costume!!! What a cool idea, I will have to remember this when my boys are a little bigger!

I know I'm a bit late on this, but I just came across your blog today. A large jar is always good for saving change. Decorate the lid, cut a hole in the top for coins and start saving. It's great for a vacation or Christmas fund. You'll be surprised how much you can "earn" in a year.
They are great as gift wrap too. Paint the top, add a bow and fill with baked goodies, baby items, or video/video store giftcard, popcorn and other goodies for a home movie night. Or drill a few holes in the bottom and add bathtub toys for little ones to keep in the tub for bathtime.
